At Personal Loving Care, our care is anchored by four core principles: Physical Health, Personal Interaction, Movement & Activity, and Personalization. In practice, we’ve found that these four principles lead to a happier, healthier, longer life for our residents. Not every Assisted Living home is the same, and we find that these are the keys that set us apart from everyone else.
Physical health of our residents is the first, and most basic step to care. Our response time is immediate, our facilities are up-to-date, and our staff is fully trained to ensure our residents’ physical safety. Physical health is crucial to our care plan, but it isn’t where our care stops.

- Medication management by our trained and qualified staff.
- Surroundings and environment free of any health hazards

- Meals are balanced and prepared on-site
Making sure that our residents develop and maintain relationships has a direct correlation to their physical and mental/emotional wellbeing. Our residents feeling a sense of community and friendship doesn’t just improve quality of life, it extends it. We work through our daily activities to encourage a sense of belonging, and also encourage family members to join us for regular events.
What does this look like?
- Special events coordinated such as visiting volunteers who provide additional entertainment
- 4th of July – visitors came and we hosted a theatrical performance for residents
- Staff is encouraged to actively persuade residents in their participation because we’ve seen that residents learn to enjoy participation
- Activities are tailored to specific resident interests based on their life experiences
- For example, Ernest has enjoyed cooking for a long time and making sure we incorporate that into our activities has improved his mindset over a short period of time.
- Family members are encouraged to be active in their loved ones lives
- We use email communication and use of a community bulletin board to keep family up to date on activities for visits
- Each house has a phone for residents to reach out to their loved ones, and individual phone lines are available
Incorporating movement into the treatment and daily life of our residents significantly improves their long-term mobility. In addition to the physical benefits, movement also has a significant impact on mental health and long term quality of life. Whether it’s our daily walks or indoor games, our staff is trained to encourage movement and activity wherever it can fit.
What does this look like?
- Daily walks through our 2.5 acre grounds
- Incorporating nature, fresh air, and social interaction into daily life is one of the highlights for many of our residents
- Indoor and outdoor games such as disc toss and cornholes
- Modified games such as life size ‘Hungry Hippos’
- Regular calisthenics & chair aerobics
- Incorporating movement and activity into daily tasks such as delivering baked goods to fellow residents
Each resident may have different levels of mobility, and our process allows for an individual level of contribution.
Personalization is the key that sets Personal Loving Care apart from other communities, and it is central in each pillar of our care plan. Every resident is an individual, and their care should reflect that. Our residents feel listened to and in control of their care which results in a longer, happier, more fulfilling life.
